PTA Student to Neurology Researcher: The Journey of Bradley Oley at Central Penn College
FROM HANDS-ON HEALING TO GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH
From unsure first-gen college student to cutting-edge clinical researcher, Bradley Oley’s journey began at Central Penn College—and is now changing lives.

Finding Confidence at Central Penn College
When Bradley Oley first walked onto the campus of Central Penn College, he admits something many first-generation students feel but rarely say out loud: “I wasn’t the strongest student.”
He stepped into unfamiliar territory—uncertain, overwhelmed, unsure of what his future would hold.
But that changed quickly.
“What I found at Central Penn was not just a college, but a community that believed in potential even when I didn’t fully see it myself,” he shared.
The personal attention, the mentorship, and the small-class environment that sets colleges in Central Pennsylvania apart became the foundation for his transformation. Professors Krista Wolfe, Patterson, and Bower helped shape not just his academic success, but his identity as a professional.
From PTA Student to Purpose-Driven Professional
After completing his associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) studies, Brad immediately entered the field—helping patients recover one-on-one.
But something deeper sparked inside him.
He realized he didn’t just want to support recovery… He wanted to advance the treatments themselves.
So he returned to Central Penn College, a leading college in Harrisburg, to pursue his bachelor’s in Health Science. That decision changed everything.
“During my bachelor’s program, my passion for research truly took root,” Brad explained.
Professor Tolani Adebanjo played a pivotal role—connecting coursework to career goals and pushing him to envision a future where science and compassion intersect.
Balancing full-time work with evening courses wasn’t easy, but it taught him resilience and time management—two skills that now define his work in the research world.
Thinking Bigger: The Path to Advanced Research
Inspired by faculty who believed in him, Brad pursued graduate education at Liberty University, earning his master’s in Molecular Medicine with an outstanding 3.93 GPA. He followed that momentum straight into a Ph.D. program, where he currently holds a 3.95 while completing his dissertation.
His journey led him to Aqualane Clinical Research in Naples, Florida, where he now serves as a Clinical Researcher specializing in neurology—alongside a team with decades of scientific expertise.
Recently, one of the trials he supports achieved remarkable Phase II results for relapsing multiple sclerosis:
A 95% relative reduction in new gadolinium-enhancing T1 lesions compared to placebo.
“For those of us in the field, that represents more than just data. It’s real progress in the fight against neurological disease—and a glimpse at a future filled with hope,” Brad said.
Professor Krista Wolfe, who taught Brad early in his academic career, said the news “made my day, literally.” Watching a former student grow into a leader in neurological research has filled her with pride.
A Career Dedicated to Discovery—and a Future Filled With Impact
Today, Brad is researching an expanding list of neurological diseases and emerging treatments. When he completes his Ph.D., he will also be qualified to serve as a site investigator for oncology, contributing to life-changing innovations for years to come.
He credits Central Penn College for helping him find his direction:
“It’s all thanks to you for believing.”
